We are engineers, designers, and parents. Our time is scarce, so we don't do half measures. We build beautiful, powerful instruments that are a joy to play and explore.

We are a small, tight-knit team based in Helsinki, Finland. Justin designs the circuits and writes the code. Jukka designs the user interface so you want to play it. Aurélie runs the company and takes care of turning prototypes into instruments you can bring into your life.

It all started because we wanted a wavetable oscillator that felt less like a computer and more like an instrument. Something deep and expressive, but without a screen staring back at us. So from a walk-in closet in our apartment, we built Four Seas.

When making music, we prefer to navigate by ear. Our instruments don’t prescribe a style or sound; we design them to inspire you to explore, create, and play. We simply create the space and you find your own way.

Ferry Island Modular takes its name from Lauttasaari, the maritime district of Helsinki where we’re based. It’s a small place shaped by the sea and the quiet forces of the North. It inspires us to focus on what’s important: working with good and passionate people, and local communities. That’s why we partner with a local Finnish electronics manufacturer and a small number of trusted stores.

We’re proud to have been granted the Design from Finland and Key Flag marks - recognition for Finnish craftsmanship. This motivates us to keep doing our best.
